midnight. Typical US dishes are here proposed,
prepared with top quality ingredients: New
York cheesecake, brownies, apple pie and cherry
pie, bagels and stuffed sandwiches, muffins,
pancakes and omelettes, hamburgers and even
veggie recipes. Brunches on Saturdays, Sundays
and holidays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Red bricks and wood lined walls, exposed pipes, mirrors, ottomans, designer armchairs and a large classic glass chandelier overlook the bread counter in this renewed bakery, in operation for twenty years. The project, customized by Costa Group, was commissioned by Roberta and Rossella Callegaro, owners of the shop with Gianfranco Alessi. The two levels have been turned into a bread counter (with sandwiches, focaccia, cakes, pasta dishes and cold foods); café counter for breakfasts, aperitifs and cocktails; tobacconist corner and a room to relax. Alongside the classical product of the Callegaro family (“ricottini”, “cremonesi”, “guglie del dom”) new experiments are suggested, such as bread sushi, healthy as well as classic cold dishes for the lunch break. For coffee lovers, excellent Portorico and Jamaica Blue Mountain coffees.      

Founded in 1817, this is one of Milan’s oldest confectionery shops. Once the watering hole for the patriots of the Five Days of Milan, now the meeting place of well-off Milanese and of international tourism.
